Monday.com Pricing (2026): Seat Minimums and What a Small Team Pays

A row of seats, some filled, with a price tag and a calculator, next to the headline Monday.com Pricing, what teams pay 2026

monday.com’s work-management offering starts at $9 per seat per month with annual billing for Basic, $12 for Standard, and $19 for Pro. Paid plans start at three seats, then move into seat bundles: four people need five seats, and six people need ten.

That is only part of the current pricing calculation. Some new accounts also purchase a required AI credit allowance, with introductory discounts potentially offsetting that charge.

This guide covers monday work management, described in current billing documentation as the monday AI work platform. monday CRM, monday dev, and monday service have separate pricing.

Published USD prices and billing documentation checked October 14, 2026. Calculations below exclude taxes and use the assumptions stated above each table.

The monday prices above are seat rates, not a guarantee of the final subscription total. Account-specific AI credit purchases and discounts must be included in the quote.

How monday’s seat minimums work

monday sells paid subscriptions in groups of seats. Its documentation calls this bucket pricing.

For a small team, the relevant bundles are:

  • Three seats.
  • Five seats.
  • Ten seats.
  • Fifteen seats, then further five-seat increments.

A four-person team therefore pays for five seats. Adding a sixth member can move a five-seat subscription to ten seats.

That step matters more than the advertised per-seat difference between some plans.

For example, at Standard’s annual seat rate, five seats cost $60 per month equivalent. Ten seats cost $120. Those figures describe the seat portion before AI credits, discounts, or tax.

If your team is close to a bundle boundary, calculate the cost at its likely future size as well as its current size.

The AI credit component new buyers need to check

monday’s current support documentation describes a seats-plus-AI-credits model for customers who joined on or after May 6, 2026 and were offered that purchase flow.

For accounts in this model, the AI allowance is a required purchase component. Minimum monthly quantities are:

  • Basic: 1,000 credits.
  • Standard: 2,000 credits.
  • Pro: 3,000 credits.

Some customers receive introductory discounted pricing. Existing accounts and other purchase arrangements may differ.

The official AI catalog lists USD pricing at $0.01 per credit. That gives these minimum component costs:

  • Basic: $10 per month.
  • Standard: $20 per month.
  • Pro: $30 per month.

These are account-level credit quantities, not a separate minimum allowance for every seat.

Why the advertised total can look lower

At the time of checking, the public USD pricing page’s ten-seat annual examples showed an AI credit charge and a matching special discount.

For Standard, the displayed calculation was:

  • Seats: $120 per month equivalent.
  • AI credits: $20.
  • Special discount: minus $20.
  • Displayed total: $120 per month equivalent.

That example does not establish your eligibility or the discount’s renewal terms. Check the actual order summary, including how long an introductory offer applies.

What do teams of 3, 5, and 10 pay?

These are calculated budgeting examples for the seats-plus-credits model. They include the minimum AI allowance, assume all listed people are members, and apply no introductory discount.

They are not personalized checkout quotes.

With annual billing

Monthly equivalents below assume annual seat rates and the minimum credit component at its published rate.

45$55$80$125$25 total

610$130$160$270$30 total
1010$130$160$270$30 total

Calculations use the published seat rates, seat bundles, minimum credit quantities, and credit unit price. Your quote may be lower with a discount or higher with additional credits, guest-related seats, or other purchases.

Worked example: a five-person Standard team

Using annual rates without a discount:

  • Five seats × $12 = $60 per month equivalent.
  • Minimum 2,000 monthly AI credits × $0.01 = $20.
  • Combined budgeting equivalent = $80 per month.

At those unchanged rates, twelve months represent $960 before tax. Confirm the payment schedule in the order summary.

If your actual offer applies a $20 monthly-equivalent discount to that package, the resulting equivalent would be $60 instead. Confirm the offer rather than assuming it.

SelfManager Team costs $300 per year, equivalent to $25 per month, with unlimited collaborators. Its included AI allowance is limited; additional usage can require purchased credits.

The lower subscription price is useful only if the product covers the workflow your team needs.

Which monday plan should a small team choose?

Basic: for straightforward internal boards

Basic suits teams that primarily need shared boards and task information. It includes unlimited viewers and items, but does not include the shareable-board guest feature.

Choose it when internal visibility is the main requirement and its limits fit your work.

Standard: for scheduling views and outside collaboration

Standard adds timeline and Gantt views, a calendar view, guest access, and automation and integration allowances.

Its current pricing page lists 250 automation actions and 250 integration actions per month.

Choose it when these features solve a repeated job. Estimate action usage against your expected workload rather than judging the plan only by the number of available integrations.

Pro: when tracking, privacy, or higher allowances matter

Pro includes private boards and documents, higher automation and integration allowances, and the native Time Tracking Column.

The Time Tracking Column is available on Pro and Enterprise. If native task-time recording is essential, Standard’s lower seat price does not describe the subscription you need.

Enterprise: for requirements beyond the self-service plans

Enterprise uses custom pricing. Evaluate it when governance, permissions, resource management, or organization-wide reporting requirements justify a sales discussion.

For a small team, first identify the requirement the lower tiers cannot meet.

How guests can change the bill

Guests are external collaborators. Their billing rules differ from member seats.

On Standard, every group of four guests counts as one billed seat. The first three guests are free; four through seven guests count as one seat; eight through eleven count as two.

Those guest-seat equivalents combine with member seats before applying the subscription bundle. Pro and Enterprise allow unlimited guests.

For example, five Standard members already occupy a five-seat bundle. Adding four guests brings the counted total to six seats, which can move the subscription to a ten-seat bundle.

That is why “we only have five employees” may not be enough to estimate the bill.

Decide whether each outside participant needs guest interaction or only viewing access. Apply the correct user role, then check the resulting subscription count.

When monday.com is worth the cost

monday is worth evaluating when your team needs configurable boards, scheduling views, automations, and a shared process that several people use.

A higher subscription can be justified when it reduces repeated coordination work or replaces a fragmented workflow.

Test one real process before committing:

  • Set up the board and required views.
  • Add the people who need access.
  • Run the expected automations.
  • Test the reporting or time-recording requirement.
  • Inspect seat usage and the complete quote.

A board that looks good in a demo is a starting point. The buying decision depends on whether the process works at your actual workload and team size.

When SelfManager.ai may be a closer fit

SelfManager.ai is worth considering when the team mainly needs dated tasks, shared tables, notes, comments, and task-level time tracking, with built-in AI planning and review.

Its AI can prepare dated plans for approval and summarize recorded work across a chosen period. The Team subscription is flat-priced, with unlimited collaborators, rather than priced in member-seat bundles.

monday may be a better match when configurable board workflows, integrations, and project-scheduling views are essential.

SelfManager runs in the browser and can be installed as a web app. Its seven-day trial requires no credit card.

Frequently asked questions

What is monday.com’s minimum paid subscription?

Paid subscriptions start at three seats. The next small-team bundles are five and ten seats, so four members require five seats and six require ten.

Can I buy monday.com for one person?

The free work-platform plan supports up to two seats. A paid subscription still starts at three seats, even if only one person uses it.

Are AI credits included for free?

For accounts offered the documented seats-plus-credits purchase model, a minimum AI allowance must be purchased. Introductory discounts may offset that component; check your account’s offer.

Does Standard include native time tracking?

The native Time Tracking Column is available on Pro and Enterprise. Consider that feature requirement when comparing plan prices.

Are guests always free?

No. Standard counts each group of four guests as one billed seat. Pro and Enterprise allow unlimited guests, while Basic does not include the shareable-board guest feature.
