The basics

What is SelfManager.ai?

SelfManager.ai is a date-centric AI task manager where each day has its own workspace with unlimited tables for tasks, notes, images, and comments. Built-in AI planning and reviwing with rich context from its date-based structure.

How is SelfManager.ai different from Notion, Trello, Todoist, or Asana?

Most task managers organize work by board, list, or folder. SelfManager.ai organizes by date - every day is its own workspace, and AI runs on top of your real history to plan the week ahead and summarize the weeks behind.

There are no per-seat fees: the Team plan is a flat $30/month for unlimited collaborators.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. SelfManager.ai includes a 7-day free trial with full access to every feature, including AI. No credit card is required to start, and you can cancel anytime.

Do I need a credit card to start?

No. The 7-day trial starts when you sign in with one of the supported login providers, with no payment information collected upfront.

Can I use SelfManager.ai for free forever?

No. After the 7-day trial, an active subscription is required to keep using the app. The Individual plan starts at $6/month billed annually, and the Team plan is a flat $25/month billed annually with unlimited team members.

How do I get started?

Open selfmanager.ai and sign in with Google, Microsoft, Apple, X/Twitter, Facebook, email, or phone. Your account is created in seconds with sample data so you can see the workflow immediately.

Who is SelfManager.ai for?

SelfManager.ai is built for solo founders, freelancers, consultants, knowledge workers, students, and small teams who want one place to plan their week by date, track tasks and notes, and reflect with AI-generated weekly and monthly reviews.

The Individual plan ($8/month, $6 billed annually) covers personal use. The Team plan ($30/month flat, $25 billed annually) covers small teams of any size with unlimited collaborators.

What makes SelfManager.ai unique?

Three things you do not get together anywhere else. First, every day already has its own workspace with unlimited tables for tasks, notes, images, and comments, with no setup or templates. Second, AI Plan drafts a structured plan for any window up to 31 days from a plain-English brief. Third, AI Review reads every task you actually touched in any week, month, or quarter and produces a streamed summary you can chat with.

On top of that, the Team plan is a flat $30/month with unlimited collaborators, with no per-seat fees ever.

How long has SelfManager.ai been around?

Development started in mid-to-late 2016, and the product launched publicly in 2022 as Self-Manager.net. It moved to selfmanager.ai in 2026 and continues with active development and frequent updates, including the v4 redesign released in early 2026. Today, thousands of registered users use it worldwide.

Pricing & billing

How much does SelfManager.ai cost?

SelfManager.ai has two plans. Individual is $8/month or $6/month billed annually. Team is $30/month or $25/month billed annually with unlimited team members included. Both plans include a 7-day free trial.

Is there a discount?

Yes, the annual billing option saves 25% on either plan. Individual goes from $8/month to $6/month ($72/year), and Team goes from $30/month to $25/month ($300/year). You can change billing cycles anytime in your account settings.

Do invited team members pay extra?

No. Only the person who subscribes to the Team plan pays the $30/month flat fee. Invited collaborators get full access to the tables you share with them, including editing tasks, leaving comments, and uploading images, without paying anything.

Are there per-seat fees, storage fees, or hidden costs?

No. The Individual and Team plans are flat-rate with no per-user, per-task, or per-storage charges. The only optional add-on is purchasing additional AI credits if you exceed the weekly allowance.

What happens after the 7-day free trial?

You'll be asked to choose a plan to continue. No credit card is charged automatically because none was collected at trial start. You can cancel without paying, or pick Individual ($8/month) or Team ($30/month) to keep using all features.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. You can cancel your subscription from your account settings at any time, and access continues until the end of the billed period.

Can I switch between Individual and Team plans?

Yes. Plan changes take effect at the next billing cycle, with the new rate prorated based on remaining time on the current plan.

What payment methods do you accept?

Payments are processed securely through Stripe. You can pay with major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover), and Apple Pay or Google Pay are available where supported by your device and country.

Use cases & personas

Is SelfManager.ai good for freelancers?

Yes. Freelancers use SelfManager.ai to track multiple clients on separate tables per day, log billable time with the built-in timer, attach client briefs and reference images to each task, and generate weekly summaries with AI Review for invoicing or status updates. Each table can be shared with a specific client without giving them access to the rest of your work.

Is SelfManager.ai good for consultants?

Yes. Consultants use SelfManager.ai to manage multiple engagements at once. Each engagement gets its own table with task tracking, time logging, and per-task notes. AI Review summarizes any week, month, or quarter for client status updates and end-of-retainer reports. Pin your most important engagements so they show up on every day’s homepage view.

Is SelfManager.ai good for knowledge workers?

Yes. Knowledge workers (developers, designers, product managers, analysts, researchers) use SelfManager.ai to plan their week ahead with AI Plan, capture meeting notes and reference material in rich text, track time on focused work, and reflect on what shipped each week with AI Review. The date-centric structure mirrors how knowledge work actually flows: by day, not by board.

Is SelfManager.ai good for solo founders?

Yes. Solo founders use SelfManager.ai as a single workspace for product roadmap, customer notes, marketing tasks, and personal goals. Pin your top-of-mind initiatives so they stay one click away from every day’s view, use AI Review to track progress weekly or monthly, and keep everything searchable across notes and comments.

Is SelfManager.ai good for students?

Yes. Students use SelfManager.ai to plan study sessions by date, track assignments and exam prep, take rich-text class notes per course, and get AI-generated summaries of what they accomplished each week or semester. The Individual plan starts at $6/month billed annually, and the 7-day free trial includes every feature.

Is SelfManager.ai good for small teams?

Yes. Small teams (2 to 20+ people) use SelfManager.ai on the Team plan: a flat $30/month with unlimited team members. Invite collaborators to specific tables only, comment on tasks, share images, and run AI Review across the team’s combined output for weekly stand-ups and monthly retros. Only the team admin pays. Invited members get full access at no extra cost.

Is SelfManager.ai good for daily planning?

Yes. Daily planning is the core of SelfManager.ai. Every day automatically has its own workspace, you can add unlimited tables per day for different focus areas (work, personal, health, learning), and AI Plan can draft a full week or month of structured plans from a plain-English brief. Duplicate any table to reuse it on a different day.

How does SelfManager.ai handle recurring tasks and habits?

SelfManager.ai does not have automatic recurring tasks. Instead, you have two manual options. Duplicate any table to reuse it on a different day with one click. Or pin a table you want to track regularly (a habit list, a daily routine, a weekly review template) so it shows up on every day’s homepage view, one click away.

Can I use SelfManager.ai as a journal or daily log?

Yes. The date-centric structure makes SelfManager.ai a natural daily journal. Use the rich text notes on any table for free-form writing, or use comments on private tables for shorter daily entries. Every note and comment is searchable from the search page, so you can find what you wrote weeks or months later. The Self Message feature also lets you write a daily message to yourself for motivation or reflection.

Can I track personal goals alongside work tasks?

Yes. You can mix personal and work tasks in a single table per day, or keep them in two separate tables on the same day. For longer-horizon goals (weekly, monthly, quarterly, or yearly), create a dedicated goal table once and pin it. Pinned tables stay accessible from every day’s homepage view, so long-term goals remain one click away no matter which day you open.

What AI models does SelfManager.ai use?

SelfManager.ai uses Google's Gemini models today, with Claude (Anthropic) models planned for the near future so users can choose between them.

What are AI credits and how do they reset?

AI credits power every AI action — generating tasks from text, summarising a table, running AI Plan, producing AI Review, or chatting with the AI assistant. Each call costs 1 credit on the Fast model and 2 credits on the Thinking model. You pick the model from a pill on the input bar before sending, so you only pay the higher rate when you want the deeper response.

The Individual plan includes 35 AI credits per week and the Team plan includes 70. Credits reset every Monday. Purchased credits never expire, unlike the weekly credits included in your subscription.

What's the difference between Fast and Thinking?

Fast is built for everyday actions — short replies, quick summaries, simple plan generation. It costs 1 credit per call.

Thinking is the deeper-reasoning model — better for complex multi-step plans, long lookback windows, and substantive clarifying questions. It costs 2 credits per call.

You can switch between them on every chat input via the model pill, so the cost matches the depth you actually want.

What if I run out of AI credits?

You can purchase additional AI credits at any time from your Subscription page. The minimum purchase is 50 credits for $2.50, with no maximum. Unlike the weekly credits included in your subscription, purchased credits never expire and roll over indefinitely.

Can I use SelfManager.ai without the AI features?

Yes. AI is opt-in. Every core feature (tables, tasks, time tracking, comments, file uploads, collaboration) works without using a single AI credit.

Does SelfManager.ai have mobile apps?

Native apps for iOS and Android are in development and will be released soon.

In the meantime, you can use SelfManager.ai on your phone or tablet through any modern browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox) and add it to your home screen for app-like access. All your data syncs in real time across every device.

Can I upload images?

Yes. You can upload up to 100 images per table, stored at original quality with no compression. There's also a global gallery view that shows every image across all your tables.

Is there built-in time tracking?

Yes. SelfManager.ai includes a built-in start/stop timer for precise tracking, plus manual time entry. You get per-task and per-table totals, weekly breakdowns by day, and time analytics by priority and status.

Can I customize the interface?

Yes, and all customization is optional. You can resize the left sidebar and the top hero, customize their colors, switch between light and dark mode at any time, and write a daily Self Message for motivation or quick notes to yourself. Every change syncs across your devices.

Does SelfManager.ai support Markdown?

Notes on every table use a rich text editor with bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, inline code, H2/H3 headings, bulleted and numbered lists, and links. Use the toolbar or keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl/Cmd+B, +I, +U). Typing a URL auto-converts to a link.

You can paste formatted content from Google Docs, Word, or web pages with formatting preserved (and sanitized for safety), and a one-click "Clear formatting" button strips everything back to plain text if you need a clean slate. Markdown syntax characters like asterisks or pound signs are not parsed.

Can I change my login provider later?

Yes. Once your account is created with any of the supported login providers, you can link additional providers from your account settings and use any of them to sign in to the same account. So you can sign up with Google today and add Apple, X/Twitter, Microsoft, Facebook, email, or phone later, in any combination.

How does SelfManager.ai compare to Akiflow, Sunsama, or Motion?

Akiflow, Sunsama, and Motion are calendar-first AI task managers focused on time-blocking. SelfManager.ai is a date-centric task manager with AI Plan and AI Review built in. It does not time-block your calendar, but it gives you unlimited tables per day, a flat $30/month team plan, and end-to-end AI from planning to weekly review.

Pick SelfManager if you want flexible structure per day; pick the others if calendar time-blocking is your primary need.

Is SelfManager.ai better than Todoist for weekly reviews?

Should I use SelfManager.ai or Apple Notes for personal tasks?

Apple Notes is great for free-form notes; SelfManager.ai is better when you want structured daily planning with task statuses, priorities, due dates, and AI-generated summaries. Apple Notes has no concept of tasks, deadlines, or progress tracking.
