Why We Slightly Increased Our Prices and What It Means for You

We want to be upfront with you.

We recently made a small adjustment to our pricing, and we think it is important to explain why, what changed, and what it means for you — especially if you are already a paying customer.

The short version: if you are already subscribed, nothing changes for you. Your price stays exactly the same.

Now here is the full picture.

What changed

We updated our pricing for new subscribers. Here is a breakdown of the old and new prices:

Individual Plan

• Previously: $5/month (monthly billing only)
• Now (monthly): $8/month
• Now (annual): $6/month — billed as $72/year

Team Plan

• Previously: $20/month (monthly billing only)
• Now (monthly): $30/month
• Now (annual): $25/month — billed as $300/year

We also introduced annual billing as a new option, which gives you a lower monthly rate and helps us plan more confidently.

If you are already a paying customer

Your current price stays the same.

No surprise increases. No forced migrations. No changes to your billing at all.

We believe that customers who supported us early should not be penalized when the business evolves. You trusted us, and we respect that.

So if you are on the $5/month Individual plan or the $20/month Team plan, that is still your price. You do not need to do anything.

Why we made this change

The honest reason is marketing.

We feel confident that Self Manager is in a solid technical place. The app is stable, feature-rich, and keeps getting better. We have AI summaries, weekly and monthly reviews, task management, project boards, and more — all in one app.

But building a great product is only half the equation. The other half is making sure the right people actually find it.

Right now, there are a lot of productivity apps competing for attention. Some are well-funded. Some are brand-new with large marketing budgets. The space is more competitive than ever.

To reach more people and grow sustainably, we need a larger budget for marketing. And this small pricing adjustment gives us the room to do that.

We did not want to raise prices dramatically. We wanted a small, reasonable increase that reflects the value the app delivers while giving us the resources to reach more users.

Why annual billing is a good deal

With the new annual plans, you actually get a better per-month rate than the per month prices:

• Individual annual: $6/month (only $1 more than the old $5/month — and you get a full year locked in)
• Team annual: $25/month ($5 more than the old $20/month — with significantly more features than when we first launched)

Annual billing also means fewer invoices, no monthly renewal surprises, and a clear commitment to productivity for the year ahead.

What this means going forward

This pricing update allows us to:

• Invest more in reaching new users who would benefit from Self Manager
• Continue improving the app with new features and refinements
• Keep the product sustainable for the long term
• Stay competitive without compromising on quality

We are not a venture-backed company burning through rounds of funding. We are building something real and sustainable. That means making thoughtful decisions like this one.
